Today’s Foodism: What Do You Lose When You Diet?

Totie Fields

Dieting is hard. Dieting sucks. Dieting deprives you of some really good food. Yet, we still chose to cut back on our food intake in order to lose pounds, inches, spare tires, flabby upper arms, double chins, junk in the trunk, etc. Oh, how we miss those delectable cream filled Twinkies, double bacon cheeseburgers dripping with grease, crispy potato chips, sugar filled sodas and more. We starve ourselves, and for what? Tentatively, we step on the scale. We hold our breath as we open first one eye, then the other and cast our gaze downward. Not a single pound has been shed. Has it all been for naught?
