Unadorned, unfussy, simplistic to the core . . . there’s nothing wrong with simple foods. Forget the culinary bells and whistles, the twenty-ingredient dishes or the rich, creamy sauces (and, for me, a lover of sauces from way back, that’s difficult to say). Food that you don’t have to think twice about, that gives you the nourishment that your body needs and just plain tastes good—this may be just what the doctor ordered.
