Today’s Foodism: You Talk Pretty Big When You’re Drunk as a Skunk

Ernest Hemingway

Inebriated souls are emboldened with liquid courage. Many feats of daring, promises of forthcoming greatness, late night phone calls and embarrassing text messages to exes and the like have begun with an abundance of alcohol flowing throughout the bloodstream. Until the liver has ample time to break down the alcohol, your system is a veritable playground; it’s all fun and games . . . until stupidity rears its ugly head. Your brain really is impaired while you’re drunk. Now that you’re sober, do you still think that taking your buddy up on his dare to fling yourself, wearing a necklace made of meat, into the lion enclosure at the zoo was such a good idea? Think about it . . . sober.
