Today’s Foodism: There’s Nothing Guilty About This Pleasure

Of the five senses, that of smell is the one which triggers memories the most. Close your eyes and allow the smell of baking bread to lead you back to a time of comfort, a time of stillness, a time of pleasure. Perhaps you invite a pat of rich, creamy butter along for the ride, or maybe you seek out a bottle of extra virgin olive oil to accompany the bread. Better yet, just take it naked—just you, the bread and that lovely aroma. You purse your lips in anticipation of that first delightful bite … brace yourself … it’s going to be wonderful.

Admit it, you want fresh baked bread right now, don’t you?
