Today’s Foodism: Either Way, You’re Still a Lover of Food

Glutton is such an ugly word, running in the same circles with such unpleasant terms as piggy, greedy and the like. I adore food, but I am not a glutton. Like Erma Bombeck, I too am an explorer of food. Add a touch of refined culture, class and intellect and suddenly the glutton is magically transformed into a gourmet. Really? Really?!? 

I have nothing against gourmets, nor gluttons for that matter. When it comes right down to it, both are merely lovers of food—whether eaten in mass quantities or dined on delicately with ones’ pinkie extended.
