Today’s Foodism: Don’t Be Such a Square . . .

E. Joseph Cossman

Square meals are the embodiment of nutritious and satisfying food fare. Since childhood we’ve all been told in one form or another, “Eating three square meals a day will keep you healthy.” However, is this an old and outdated concept whose time has come and gone? Many believe that mini-meals—about 6 a day—are the way to go, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. I’m no dietitian or nutritionist (and I don’t play one on TV), but my personal take on this boils down to one simple sentiment: no matter how many meals a day you eat, the more important factor is how much you eat versus how often you eat. Feel free to disagree. Your opinions are welcome.
