As part of a balanced diet, the U.S.D.A. recommends we eat from the the five food groups that are the building blocks for a healthy diet. These groups are: 1) fruits, 2) proteins, 3) vegetables, 4) dairy and, drum roll please . . . 5) grains. If it’s good enough for the U.S.D.A., it’s good enough for me. Pass the popcorn and hold the butter!
