From the media to health care practitioners to Aunt Edna or Big Mama, there always seems to be somebody telling us what foods we should and shouldn’t put into our bodies. Some of these people may mean well and others simply love to hear themselves speak, and still some of us take their advice to heart. It is the one who, right or wrong, goes against the grain of food fads and culinary coercion to eat according to their needs and not the fashion forward food whims of others who owns his or her food independence. After all, you’re not a baby anymore.
